Can you introduce the basic profile, development history, and last year's performance of Zhongyi Hydraulic?
Cai Yingluyi: Ningbo Zhongyi Hydraulic Motor Co, Ltd. was founded in 1971. It is a high-tech enterprise specialized in the R&D, production, and sales of hydraulic motors and hydraulic transmission devices.
Our company currently has two major production bases in China, one in Wuhu, Anhui, and the other in Ningbo, Zhejiang. Simultaneously, we have established a research institute in Taiyuan, Shanxi, primarily focused on the R&D of high-performance hydraulic components and electro-hydraulic transmission devices.
Our company firmly believes in "revitalizing the enterprise with technology" and has consistently invested significant funds in R&D. Therefore, we have also established a provincial-level postdoctoral workstation and a provincial-level R&D center. Concurrently, in collaboration with the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology & Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, we jointly established a research center for wear-resistant materials for hydraulic motors and a materials research center for high-performance hydraulic motors. We also maintain close cooperative relationships with several domestic universities.
Although 2022 was a year of recurring pandemic waves and a downward economic trend, our company maintained a relatively steady growth trajectory. In 2022, our company's exports increased by approximately 55%, and overall production capacity improved by 35%.
In recent years, our company has been recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a "Little Giant" enterprise specializing in specific fields with sophisticated technologies and innovative business models, and a key "Little Giant" enterprise. It was also rated as a management innovation demonstration enterprise by Zhejiang Province and was named among Ningbo's Top 100 Competitive Enterprises. Furthermore, we are one of the domestic enterprises with the largest production capacity for cycloidal hydraulic motors. We have already achieved an annual production capacity of one million units for various types of hydraulic motors.
How was Zhongyi's path of 'Specialization, Refinement, and Innovation' forged?
Cai Yingluyi: Zhongyi Hydraulic has actually been around for decades since its establishment in 1971. Over all these years, it has consistently specialized in manufacturing hydraulic motors, continuously increasing R&D investment. Currently, our company's main products include the BM series cycloidal hydraulic motors, JMDG crankshaft connecting rod type radial piston hydraulic motors, and the QJM series radial steel ball hydraulic motors, among others. The production capacity for cycloidal motors already accounts for over 50% of our company's total, making it our flagship product.
The hydraulic motors independently developed and produced by Zhongyi Hydraulic can achieve a pressure rating of 35 MPa, placing them at the domestic first-class level. Our motors have received high praise in the market due to their advantages of compact size, high torque, and high safety performance. They are widely used in various fields such as plastic machinery, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and rubber machinery, and have become a preferred brand for import substitution.
Zhongyi has invested significant funds and effort in intelligent manufacturing in recent years. What improvements have these transformations brought to your company?
Cai Yingluyi: In recent years, more and more companies have realized that digitalization and intelligence have become an inevitable path for the future of manufacturing.
Our company also began investing in intelligent transformation gradually starting in 2018. In the first phase in 2018, we invested over 50 million RMB to carry out the transformation of a digital workshop.
The successful construction and smooth operation of the first digital workshop have made our product quality more stable and significantly increased our overall production capacity.
In 2020, we further intensified our efforts in intelligent manufacturing transformation. We invested 120 million RMB to fully launch the construction of a "Hydraulic Motor Smart Factory based on 5G+Industrial Internet." This project added a flexible machining workshop, an automated assembly digital workshop, an automated painting workshop, and our intelligent three-dimensional warehouse, creating the industry's first automated factory covering the entire process from machining to assembly and painting. Multiple indicators, including overall enterprise operational costs, productivity, and batch product stability, have achieved industry-leading levels.
Which key clients has your company served? Could you share some success stories with us?
Cai Yingluyi: Over the years, Zhongyi has actually maintained very close cooperation with leading enterprises in various industries. Recently, we had a client with a paver project. They hoped to localize the hydraulic motors used in their pavers. However, their motors consistently operated under harsh conditions involving high pressure, high dust, and high impact. Through multiple communications with the client and the continuous efforts of our team, we repeatedly revised drawings and conducted trial production. Finally, we successfully delivered our product to the client, solving this critical bottleneck issue for them.
What is your view on the current state of the domestic hydraulic industry? What are your predictions for the industry development trend in 2023?
Cai Yingluyi: The domestic hydraulic industry started relatively late overall. Therefore, compared to international counterparts, there is still a certain gap. However, I believe that currently, for domestic hydraulic component manufacturers, the substitution of imported hydraulic components with domestic ones is a golden opportunity. I think domestic hydraulic components should still focus on quality as the core, be market-oriented, continuously improve and innovate, enhance the technical performance of our products, and steadily expand our market share both domestically and internationally.
Zhongyi plans to invest over 500 million RMB to build a smart factory featuring intelligent design, intelligent production, and intelligent management in the future, aiming to create the industry's first lighthouse factory and contribute to industrial upgrading.
What is your overall impression of the PTC ASIA exhibition? What exhibition highlights attracted you?
Cai Yingluyi: The PTC ASIA exhibition has actually been held for many years. As the most professional hydraulic components exhibition in all of Asia, it provides an excellent platform for our products. We have also met many outstanding partners through the exhibition in recent years. Each PTC exhibition always provides us with the latest and most cutting-edge trends and information in the hydraulic industry, which holds significant reference value for the R&D and launch of our new products.
What latest technologies and products will your company bring to the exhibition?
Cai Yingluyi: At the 2023 PTC ASIA exhibition, we will launch our TMS piston motor and BDSA high-pressure steering motor to meet customer demand for domestic hydraulic components.
