What Biopharmaceutical Automation Solutions Has Festo Brought to Its Debut at CPHI & PMEC China 2026?

From June 16 to 18, 2026, Festo made its debut at CPHI & PMEC China 2026 at Booth F06, Hall W5 of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. With a total exhibition area exceeding 250,000 square meters and attracting over 3,700 enterprises from around the world, this event is the largest pharmaceutical industry chain exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region. Under the theme "From Laboratory Automation to Mass Production: One-Stop Solutions for Biotechnology", Festo integrated resources from its Life Science and Process Automation business lines to present its full-process automation capabilities from R&D to production.
At the exhibition, Festo brought a number of core technologies and product solutions tailored for biopharmaceutical scenarios. Among them, the bench-top glass bioreactor solution is constructed with VEMD mass flow controllers, VEAE switch valve manifolds and EMMT servo drive systems. It can precisely control gas, liquid and stirring parameters during cell culture, fully transferring laboratory-level control logic to mass production lines and greatly reducing the fluctuation risk of process scale-up. The precision microfluidic bonding plate technology, paired with VYKA media isolation valves, achieves ultra-fast response of 3-5 milliseconds and microliter-level precise liquid handling, meeting the stringent requirements of high-throughput sample preparation. For explosion-proof conditions in pharmaceutical production, Festo also exhibited an integrated explosion-proof gas control system, which solves the pain points of complex wiring and difficult maintenance of traditional explosion-proof systems through standardized explosion-proof valve terminals and wiring solutions.
In addition to hardware products, Festo also highlighted its digital operation and maintenance platform Festo AX, which transforms equipment maintenance from "experience-driven" to "data-driven". The platform can collect real-time operation data of pneumatic and electric drive systems, predict equipment health status through algorithms, give early warnings of potential failures, and reduce unplanned downtime of production lines. Overall, Festo's complete set of solutions covers the entire workflow from laboratory liquid dispensing and cell culture to process scale-up and commercial production, directly addressing three core challenges in the biopharmaceutical industry: difficult process scale-up, stringent compliance requirements and high operation and maintenance costs. This debut also marks Festo's further expansion into China's biopharmaceutical market, and it will support the automation and intelligent upgrading of domestic pharmaceutical enterprises with its global technical accumulation.
